A lot of things fell down hard on my life and my bank account. I'm really in a bind and am in need of some help from anyone out there.
Anything from rated g to porn is fair game. Please forward this journal to others. Anyone who refers someone here that shares some of their money to help will get a free icon.

Thanks guys...

I am branching my portfolio outside dragons and reptiles and amphibians. On a challenge from a friend I am looking to explore bugs. Mantises fascinate me, so I explored DA for some artistic insight so that I can study them, as I have only seen one mantis in person, unlike the reptiles I paint frequently.

I have a 2ft by 3ft one started and the underpainting is complete. I hope to share it in a couple weeks when I finish it :)

Excellent! That's about the size I like to paint bugs at. If you're really trying to learn about them, the best thing is to catch one yourself and observe it for an hour (although this is quite hard, and only happened to me once by accident). Alternately, looking at a lot of photos and maybe a short youtube documentary should also give you a decent understanding of the mantis attitude (they've got more personality than any other insects I've seen)
